If I said something about three pairs of gloves, would that mean anything to you?
[ daylight feels bad for being so abrupt but between waking up and feeling stiff as a non-jointed construct that hasn't been oiled in a while, he can only type so many words on his tablets before his stiff, pins-and-needles fingers go nope.
he hopes what he just wrote makes sense, taking the plunge by hitting send and seeing if he gets an answer of some sort. ]
he's been waiting for this. honestly, if it wasn't for davina missing (or gone, permanently gone from this realm), he would've reached to check up on daylight without so much as making it obvious. broken hearts, you know. ]
Should've gone for silk gloves. Might have made you slip down from those rungs of that ridiculously long ladder.
[ and, you know, the rest wouldn't have happened. ]
I remember. And I'm assuming you do, too. Dead birds. :)
after making a face at the screen and hoping the energies of his expression could be picked up through the wavelengths, daylight does type out a reply to kol: ]
Yeah. Not one my proudest moments.
I'm sorry about that. The whole thing. I wanted to say thank you for trying to save me. I wasn't 'there' anymore but I felt your efforts and thanks. [ this is, perhaps, the closest day will ever get to admitting to what happened during the final minutes of the weird dream/vision/experience thing.
he's been pretty cagey about talking about this to others. it helps kol was there, definitely. ]
[ well, this is the one thing kol didn't want to acknowledge ever again. despite his age, he does have a very short list of topics he wishes to avoid. dead birds isn't one of them, but what transpired after is.
there's a delay before he replies. ]
It's the least I could do. I did drop dead birds on top of you.
[ everyone knows what happened post-birds >>>>> dead birds. ]
I haven't had a scratch in centuries, mate. My body's fine.
[ you know, because he's fiiiiine. 👅💦
also, a nice, easy dodge. kol can't believe that he'd tried to save two people who should've died in a dream and could've woken. it's left him with a series of tangled and difficult feelings to try and weave through… if he chooses to.
he's over a thousand years old. does anyone think he got to where he is dealing with anything? ]
I take it you're okay? Body? Wires? I'm not quite sure what the technical term is.
The proper term is 'frame' since I inherited enough of my dad's genes and yeah. I'm fine in terms of my body. I think my joints are going to be stiff for the rest of the month, though, since no one tried to move my limbs around.
I can't blame them since I'm super pointy. I'm honestly surprised the others on me didn't get stabbed by my bits or something. :// [ the fear he felt when he woke up and realised there were two very squishy humans on him was real and vivid. ]

[ yes.
daylight really did type that all out. note the careful switching of letters. the variance in the uppercase and lower case. ]
But really- Thanks. I really owe you and Sarissa now. You're alright, right? Bodily?

At least you're alive, even if a bit sore. No pain, no gain, as they say.
I'd say those who took care of you had quite a lot of luck on their hands. I wouldn't go questioning it if I were you. It's very rare to have.

Yeah. I'll definitely send them a thank you gift. At the very least, get them a card or something.
Okay- I'll go check on the others who also were asleep to see what they might know. Is there anyone you want me to check on in particular?

Will you be asking them if they had a pile of dead birds accidentally and innocently fall on top of them?
[ daylight better show off that he had the better gross dream than anyone else! ]
